Zyvox acts by selectively inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to bacterial ribosomal sites thereby preventing formation of functional 70S-initiation complex, which is an essential component of bacterial translation process.

Take Zyvox as exactly prescribed by your health care professional. Zyvox dosage for community or hospital acquired pneumonia is 600 mg IV or orally every 12 hours for 10-14 days while for skin infections is 400 mg orally every 12 hours for 10-14 days.
