IRON PILLS ACTION MECHANISM
Iron transport proteins bind to ferric iron and carry it through plasma or cytoplasm to be either stored or released for use in physiological functions. Iron regulatory proteins regulate the production and activity of iron transport and storage proteins, thereby regulating intracellular iron levels and iron distribution.
IRON PILLS DOSAGE
Dosage in adults: 50-100 mg elemental iron three times daily. While for children with iron deficiency anemia 4-6 mg/kg per day divided into three doses is recommended. The recommended daily allowances (RDAs) for iron are: 11 mg/day-18 mg/day. For pregnant women, the RDA is 27 mg/day.

Effective for anemia caused by chronic disease and iron deficiency. Also used in treatment of Learning problems, coughs caused by ACE inhibitors and Heart failure.
IRON PILLS SIDE EFFECTS
Iron is when used appropriately. However, it can cause side effects including stomach upset and pain, constipation or diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Iron supplements are taken on empty stomach, but can be taken with food to some side effects.
