ATENOLOL ACTION MECHANISM
Atenolol acts by competing with sympathomimetic neurotransmitters for binding at beta (1)-adrenergic receptors in heart and vascular smooth muscle, thereby inhibiting sympathetic stimulation. As a result, there is reduction of resting heart rate, cardiac output, systolic and diastolic blood pressure and reflex orthostatic hypotension.
ATENOLOL DOSAGE
