Parlodel is an ergot alkaloid derivative with potent dopamine receptor agonist activity. Parlodel (Bromocriptine) is chemically designated as Ergotaman-3\', 6’, 18-trione, 2-bromo-12\'-hydroxy-2\'-(1-methylethyl)-5\'-(2-methylpropyl)-, (5\'α)-monomethanesulfonate (salt). It is mostly is used to treat persistent breast milk production, lack of a menstrual period, infertility, and other conditions associated with high prolactin levels.

PARLODEL ACTION MECHANISM
Parlodel is a dopamine agonist. It works by blocking the release of prolactin from the pituitary gland .It inhibits the secretion of prolactin in humans, with little or no effect on other pituitary hormones.
PARLODEL DOSAGE
The dosage of parlodel will vary for every patient, so follow your physician’s instructions. Active Ingredient: bromocriptine mesylate, USP. Normal Dosage is 2.5 mg. Lower Dosage of 1.25mg and a higher dose of 5mg are also prescribed in some cases.
PARLODEL ADVANTAGES
The medicine is useful in treating menstrual and fertility problems and symptoms caused by certain cancers. Parlodel also prevents the release of certain hormones (growth hormone, prolactin), also to treat Parkinson\'s disease and patients with type 2 diabetes.
